Space to Create
Longcross Film Studios may not have been around as long as some of the other UK film studios but it has achieved remarkable success since it was established in January 2006 with many blockbuster films being produced here. Its stages and facilities are in demand by the top production companies and has over 200 acres of backlot space.
There are 4 main stages (buildings) plus numerous Workshops ranging from 2,000 sq ft to 13,000 sq ft. Also considerable Office space and excellent Studio Canteen facilities.
The Studios, once an important M.O.D site with considerable history, have over 200 acres of backlot. There is a 2¼ mile Test Track constantly in use for filming that was once used to test 80 ton army tanks and now is used by prestigious motor cars together with motoring events. In the centre of the backlot is a 150 year old Manor House that is used by Film and TV. The small 9 hole Golf Course completes our backlot review.
